Drashti’s ready to give a jhalak



TV’s Madhubala, Drashti Dhami, is usually seen dancing to protagonist RK’s tunes. But now, you’ll see her shake a leg on Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja 6.

When we caught up with her on the sets of the show, Drashti was sitting pretty in a red gown, ready for her act. She admitted that while she had taken up the challenge, juggling two shows is not an easy task. “Initially, I was very excited. Later, I realised it’s going to be difficult juggling between Madhubala and Jhalak,” she said.

Drashti says she isn’t a trained dancer. “As a child, I learned Bharatnatyam for a year, just for fun, because my mother wanted me to. After that I joined Shaimak Davar’s institute, again just for fun. Jhalak is very enjoyable. Even if I’m tired throughout the day, when I reach the Jhalak house there’s a different energy altogether.” she said.

Drashti says choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan has been extremely patient with her: “Salman is very understanding as he knows that I shoot for Madhubala the entire day and then come for rehearsals. I think with time he is going to get strict with me but for now I’m doing as much as I can manage. Let’s see what happens later. Currently he is teaching me new dance forms — I’ve never done contemporary before, or waltz for that matter. I’m a little hesitant because here you have to do everything with perfection, not just for the heck of it.”

The actress has shot her opening act on the show and also had a performance with Ranbir Kapoor. She recounts, “I was nervous and it showed. I will be more aware of the stage in my next performance and I hope that nervousness won’t be there. Dancing with Ranbir was fun.”

And what advice have bhabhi and bhaiya Suhasi and Jaisheel Dhami, who were in Nach Baliye 5, given Drashti? “They have encouraged me to put my best foot forward,” Drashti says.

A press conference was held that's attended by Drashti , Neeta Lulla & Vivian . Neeta Lulla made the DD wear the beautiful red veil & Drashti faced the camera smiling .

Reporter asked DD : How is it wearing a Neeta Lulla Outfit ?

DD ~ I saw the outfit hanging in my room & I was like "Man this is gonna b heavy" but then when I wore it I swear by God I wasn't willing to take it off !!! I've a back problem n the outfit is heavy but its so beautiful I kept looking at myself the whole day .....

DD ~ I wudn't mind repeating this outfit ... its so pretty ....

Actor Drashti Dhami seems to be having a great time on her show, Madhubala, as she goes through her pre-wedding rituals. While the actor is donning designer clothes and is enjoying the mehendi, haldi and sangeet ceremonies, the makers have taken an alluring step. To add to the grandeur


of the show, they have roped in popular designer Neeta Lulla to design Drashti’s wedding attire. All this was done to ensure that the preparations were in consonance with the role Drashti plays in the show, which is of superstar RK’s (Vivian Dsena) wife.
A source says, “Drashti loved the wedding lehenga and said that she would wear the same piece for her own wedding.”

Later, while discussing about the big fat wedding on the show and talking about her own wedding with the media, Drashti surprises everyone with her comment. “I would not mind getting married to Salman Khan,” says the actor.

There are rumours that Salman Khan might make an appearance on the show for the wedding.

Sultan has promised Padmini to not let Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) marry RK (Vivian Dsena) and coming episode of Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek junoon will depend upon Sultan’s Ishq and Junoon.
